Sustainability Statement

Griot Goods aims to only use pieces of hardwoods (both US domestic and exotic species) from the scrap bins of lumber mills. I do this out of respect and in an effort to make use of every tree. I've found that even the "small" boards to the lumbermill, are still quite large and would make a mighty and durable paddle, handle or wooden baton for impact play.

I do this to prevent these woods, who have had long lives as trees, from going to waste when they are so preciously useful still and perfectly suited to live another life as an impact toy crafted through my shop. 

Many apologies if wood varieties are mislabeled on the site, I am often times required to go by the labels at the lumber mills of the species. However, my knowledge of woods is ever increasing due to the many visits I make to the lumber mills is making that less of an issue/occurrence.
